I didn't come up through an agency. I came up through the business — running divisions, sitting in leadership meetings, making the calls that moved companies forward. Marketing wasn't my first language. Business was.

I scaled a B2B healthcare company from $30M to $500M over a decade. Built two profitable divisions from nothing. Led a 47-person marketing team. Helped three companies reach acquisition. All at the operator level.

When I built Marketing Mason, I did it because I kept seeing the same gap: smart founders with real businesses, spending on marketing with nothing to show for it. Not because the work wasn't happening — but because no one was owning the function at the leadership level.

Marketing exists to serve the business. Before I recommend a channel or campaign, I need to understand the revenue model, the sales motion, and what the company is actually trying to accomplish in the next 12 months.

Honest Over Comfortable

If the plan isn't working, I'll say so. If the team isn't capable of executing the strategy, I'll tell you. If your instinct is wrong, I'll push back. Honest conversations are the service.

The goal is never to be the smartest person in the room. The goal is to build a marketing function that runs without me in the middle of it. If I'm the bottleneck, I've failed.
